Paul Berry After building the product for Huffington Post, and owning the product and engineering groups at AOL after we were acquired, it was clear to me there was a huge gap between what the current CMS offering gave the world and what the world needed. Five years later we are at scale, moving the needle and doing to WordPress what Airbnb did to Craigslist. Social and Centralized WordPress, Drupal, and the custom CMS solutions of the world are all independent, non-connected instances that each need to be updated individually. There are over 87 million instances of WordPress alone in the world, and each security upgrade, feature update, and every other single thing has to be updated for each site individually. By contrast, RebelMouse is a social, centralized platform built to keep up with the speed of the tech giants. Our updates are pushed out to all of our sites at once and sometimes even multiple times a day with content creation tools integrated directly into social APIs. We can get clients off of clunky CMSs and into the future in a matter of days. We iterate with the times and tell you what’s changing in the world, how we’ve reacted to it, and how it’s built into the updates you get from the platform.

Meet Clarisse, Daughter of Ares. You got a problem with that? She is a well-trained camper which can be a bad thing, depending on whose side she’s on. She shows mastery at using her favorite weapon, an electric spear that was given to her by her father, Ares. Percy manages to break it, making Clarisse hate Percy even more. Athletes not featured in the Daily Beast article at the Olympics. The entire piece is an astoundingly creepy exercise in Grindr-baiting , which involves a journalist accessing Grindr in an unlikely setting and … seeing what happens. But the Daily Beast piece, penned by Nico Hines, is a uniquely disgusting and irresponsible entry into the tired genre. Hines entices his often closeted subjects under false pretenses; effectively outs several closeted athletes who live in repressive countries; then writes about the whole thing in a tone of mocking yet lurid condescension.
On Thursday evening, the Daily Beast took down the piece entirely. Later, it also published an apology. Advertisement Because Hines is not gay, you might find his use of Grindr a bit dishonest. But not to worry: Grindr is an app for men who wish to hook up with other men. That is its purpose! To be on Grindr when you do not have that goal, and when you could not possibly have that goal because you are straight, is itself a mendacious deception. This misrepresentation might be excusable had Hines noted in his profile that he was a journalist on assignment.
But naturally, he did not. Who asks that on Grindr?
Jamie Anderson: Dating app Tinder in Olympic Village ‘is next level’
On its face, the story may seem like yet another fluffy piece about sex in the Olympic village, and not much else. But it did do one potentially awful thing: It may have outed multiple gay athletes, including one from “a notoriously homophobic country,” potentially putting people in real danger.
Adam D’Angelo is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Quora, based in Mountain View, was chief technology officer of Facebook, and also served as its vice president of engineering, until In June , he started Quora. He is a member of the board of directors of OpenAI, and an investor in internet companies.
Getty Images People say it all the time, nothing brings people together quite like the Olympics. You can say that again. The Olympic Village is a cool place. Most of the athletes are all staying there and when you get that many mostly young and in-shape people who are having the times of their lives, good times are bound to happen.
In this modern age with smart phones, they’re happening even more than normal. Jamie Anderson, the American snowboarder who won gold in the slopestyle event, and her friends have certainly found life in the Village entertaining thanks to the Tinder app. Tinder is a dating app — or often criticized as a “hook-up” app — and Anderson explained to US Weekly that it has been a pretty decent matchimaking tool in Sochi. In the mountain village it’s all athletes.

Total Racing International Limited, the company originally behind the event, went into liquidation last month. But with just six weeks to go until the participants sprinted into action, a deal has not yet been reached. Now, Mr Gray has confirmed the race has been postponed as he wants to give people enough time to make other plans. He said all participants will receive a full refund for their entrance fee within 28 days of the event being cancelled.
